Located 240 metres above the ground at the top floor of the Ocean Financial Centre along Singapore CBD’s bustling Collyer Quay, Zafferano offers gastronomes a winning hybrid concept that consists of a contemporary restaurant and chic rooftop bar. Enjoy the panoramic 270-degree view as you dig in to Chef Roberto De Franco’s neo Italian cuisine that’s a refreshed and modern version of the classics.
Appetisers like Uovo ($23), made with parmesan cream, poached organic egg, green asparagus & black truffle, the Foie Gras ($36), made as a terrine with figs, pistachio, vin santo and a side of toasted brioche, are a must-try. Another recommended appetizer is the Degustazione di Prosciutto ($45) of three tasting hams – parma ham, san diele and pata negra bellota.
For mains, sink your teeth into the signature Filleto ($55), a pan-fried US prime-grade beef tenderloin with goose liver, mashed potato, vegetables and marsala sauce.
An Italian restaurant is nothing without its pasta offerings! Zafferano’s Astice ($45) with large paccheri pasta, Boston lobster and cherry tomatoes, as well as Risotto Zafferano ($30), a saffron-flavoured risotto made with creamy goose liver, quail leg confit and black truffle will truly hit the spot.
Those with a sweet tooth are far from forgotten! The Fragole ($18) is a unique strawberry soup with yogurt ice-cream and candied lemon. Chef De Franco also offers two kinds of Tiramisu, the classic, and the Tiramisu al Frutto della Passione, made with passion fruit, strawberry & mint sauce and crunchy caramel pistachios ($18).
